1. Who is responsible

The personal data you give us is handled by the Colombian company that provides the service, whose registered name and contact details are on the legal information page, linked from the footer of this site.

This processing is governed by Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013.

2. What we collect

We collect only what is needed to provide the service:

  • Identification and contact: name, email address and WhatsApp or phone number.
  • Service details: date and time, pickup point, destination, number of passengers and, where relevant, flight number.
  • Notes you choose to write in the form (for example, if you need a child seat).
  • Technical browsing data generated by your visit, such as language and device type.

3. What we do NOT collect

We never ask for or store your card details. Payment is handled entirely by the gateway, which receives and safeguards them under its own security standards.

We do not collect sensitive data (health, ethnicity, beliefs, biometrics). If you volunteer any in the notes field, we use it only to handle that specific request.

4. What we use it for

We process your data for these purposes and no others:

  • Preparing your quote and confirming your booking.
  • Assigning a driver and giving them the pickup point and time.
  • Sending your confirmation and communicating with you before, during and after the service.
  • Issuing the invoice and meeting our accounting and tax obligations.
  • Handling complaints and responding to lawful requests from the authorities.

5. Authorisation

By submitting the booking form you authorise the processing described here. You can withdraw that authorisation at any time, except for what we must keep to meet legal obligations or to handle an ongoing complaint.

6. Who it is shared with

We share the minimum necessary, and only with:

  • The driver assigned to your service, who receives your name, pickup point and time.
  • The payment gateway, to process the charge.
  • The technology providers that host the site and handle email.
  • The competent authorities, where there is a legal obligation to do so.

6A. Data processors

To provide the service we rely on technology providers that process data on our behalf, as data processors, following our instructions and only for these purposes:

  • Online payments: processed by Wompi (Bancolombia). It receives the amount, the booking reference and the payment details you enter on its page. Your card details are received and held by Wompi: Safe Ride Medellín never stores them.
  • Emails and messages about your booking: the providers receive your name, your email address or WhatsApp number and the content of the message. Payment reminders include a link to stop receiving them.
  • Hosting of the site and the booking store: the booking data and the technical connection data needed to serve the site securely are processed.
  • Some of these providers process data on servers outside Colombia, for example in the United States, under contracts that require them to protect it (see clause 7).

7. International transfer

The site runs on distributed infrastructure that may process data on servers outside Colombia. By booking you authorise that transfer, which happens solely for the purposes described in this policy.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your booking data for the duration of our relationship and afterwards for the period required by the accounting, tax and civil liability obligations applicable in Colombia.

After that period it is deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

As the data subject you may, at any time:

  • Know what data we hold about you and where it came from.
  • Update or correct it if it is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete it, where no legal duty requires us to keep it.
  • Withdraw the authorisation you gave us.
  • File a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC).

10. How to exercise them

Write to the email address on the legal information page, saying which right you want to exercise. No special form is needed.

Queries are answered within a maximum of ten (10) business days and complaints within fifteen (15) business days, under Law 1581 of 2012. If we needed longer we would tell you before the deadline, explaining why.

11. Minors

The site is not aimed at minors and we do not collect their data directly. When a minor travels as a passenger, their details are provided by the responsible adult making the booking and are limited to what is needed to provide the service safely.

12. Cookies

The site uses no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Only the technical storage strictly needed for the page to work is used, such as remembering your chosen language.

To know which pages are visited, we measure traffic in aggregate with a tool that uses no cookies and does not identify visitors: page viewed, country, device type and loading speed. Your booking and payment pages are not measured.

13. Security

The site is served entirely encrypted (HTTPS) and access to booking data is restricted to those who need it to provide the service.

No system is infallible. If an incident affected your data, we would tell you and report it to the authority as the law requires.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The last revision date appears at the top of the page. If a change materially affected how we handle your data, we would tell you at the email address you booked with.
